Oceanus was born from a deep conviction: we all hold the power to create a more sustainable and more collaborative world.
With 30 years of executive leadership, I led the transformation of companies generating between €50 million and €550 million in revenue with teams up to 1,600 employees. These experiences have convinced me that sustainable performance is built on a balanced approach between financial results and value creation for people and the planet.
I am convinced that this value emerges when we unleash the full potential of each individual. Every step can lead to major transformations; I have been able to verify this throughout my career. Taking action has an huge impact, wether it is supporting individuals or organizations, innovating, building, or transforming.
My commitment is centered on the development of the women and men I work with, cultivating collective intelligence and strengthening team cohesion. It is from this dynamic that I draw my energy and motivation.
The origin of Oceanus
Inspired by water, a symbol of harmony, life, and exploration, Oceanus reflects my deep commitment to creating solutions that combine meaning, sustainability, pragmatism, and collaboration. Water not only embodies the biosphere and the need to preserve our natural resources, but also represents transformation, innovation, and exploration of new horizons.
During a trip to Italy, the figure of the Titan Oceanus, known for its quest for harmony and pacifism, particularly struck me. That made sense. Oceanus is more than a structure: it is a philosophy of action, collaboration, and transformation.
Markus Sandmayr’s career path
I am Markus Sandmayr, an executive passionate about business transformation and sustainable growth. Originally from Germany, I have built an international career in sectors such as specialized nutrition, agri-food, and healthcare. Throughout my career, I have held senior management positions, managing multicultural teams in Europe, North America, Africa, and the Middle East.
This experience has taught me that it is possible to combine economic growth, positive impact, and societal responsibility. As CEO of companies such as Blédina SAS, Nutricia DACH & Netherlands, and as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Danone GmbH Germany for 10 years, I orchestrated large-scale strategic transformations. In particular I led industrial restructuring projects, launched new brands in international markets and obtained B Corp certifications to integrate sustainability into companies’ business models.

From my first early associative commitments to my leadership roles, I have always place the human at the center of transformations. I have led teams in a variety of cultural environments, supporting talent development and promoting responsible, inclusive, and high-performing corporate cultures. I am recognized for my ability to unite and mobilize groups around ambitious strategic visions.
Innovation is a strong lever for transformation.
At the helm of dynamic and contributing companies, I have launched innovative initiatives in various fields such as probiotic yogurts, functional foods, and medical nutrition, always driven by a personal conviction in their positive impact. As commited member of the B Corp movement, I have supported projects that combine business and social responsibility, exploring alternative and sustainable models. That is exactly what I want to continue doing.
Action must be oriented towards concrete results.
My approach is pragmatic and focused on impact: any transformation must be measurable and generate sustainable performance. I have led industrial restructuring projects, managed three factories in France, driven large-scale organizational changes and integrated new growth strategies internationally. Oceanus relies on this experience to support companies in their development.

Whether through corporate management, mentoring, consulting or investing, I am commited to pass on my knowledge and experience to inspire and equip today’s leaders and those who will become leaders in the future.

From a young age I created sports and inclusive associative projects. I fought for the causes I believed in. Throughout my career, I have been driven by the idea that each of us must commit to the causes we believe in and can contribute to. I wish to continue doing so through Oceanus.
